Amazon Prime Member Benefits!

Want an Amazon Prime membership? If so, you should!  As a Prime member, you’ll have access to so many benefits! For $139 annually or $14.99 a month, you’ll save on thousands on products and score FREE and incredibly fast shipping rates. Save on music, eBooks, grocery, and video! You will not want to miss out on all of the available options that an Amazon Prime membership can provide. If you aren’t a member already, sign up for a free trial of Amazon PrimeAmazon Family or Amazon Student.

Amazon Student

Amazon Student is $69 annually, compared to the $139 cost for a regular Prime Membership. That’s a huge amount of savings. Plus, in addition to this low-price membership, you’ll also score six FREE months of Prime during your first year. Like a regular Prime membership you’ll receive the following benefits: Prime Delivery, Prime Video, Early Deal Access, Prime Music, Prime Reading, Amazon Warehouse, Prime Exclusives, and Amazon Photos.

You’ll gain access to Amazon Student’s lower membership price for four years or until you graduate. Keep in mind that you will need to link your .edu address, as well as present documentation like a student ID or a transcript. This will help Amazon verify that you are actually a student.

2-Day, 1-Day, or “Same-Day” Delivery

Two-day shipping is Amazon’s most famous benefit, which has influenced shoppers to stop buying from other online retailers. But, did you know that Prime members can also score FREE One-Day shipping on certain items. In some areas, you can even receive Prime Same-Day delivery. These items will be marked on the web-page with the “Prime FREE Same-Day” tag.

If you’d like to have less cardboard delivered to your home, you can choose Amazon Day at checkout. This feature allows items that will be arrive on different days, be combined into single packages and delivered on a specific date.

Or, stop having items delivered to your address and choose a Amazon locker. These self-service kiosks allow you to pick up your package whenever you are free, including weekends and evenings. Plus, you can also place returns in the Amazon locker as well. No fees or shipping charges!

Amazon Prime EBT/SNAP

Millions of Americans are party of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or Snap. This program helps families pay for healthy food and household staples like bread, produce, meat, dairy, and more. Amazon now has a list of list of SNAP-eligible items for you to browse on their website. Plus, if you are receiving government assistance, you qualify for a $6.99 per month Prime membership.

Amazon now accepts SNAP as payment in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and select regions of Illinois.

Once you sign up to use your SNAP card on Amazon, you can shop Amazon Pantry and Amazon Fresh. Plus, members can save 15% off select Mama Bear, Happy Belly, and 365 Everyday Value groceries.

2-Hour Delivery with Prime Now, Amazon Fresh, or Whole Foods Delivery

Depending on your region, Amazon offers two-hour delivery with Prime Now, Amazon Fresh, and/or Whole Foods Delivery. These benefits may seem confusing, because Amazon will redirect you to whatever service is available in your area. These programs will help you get groceries delivered to your home with less hassle. Keep in mind that Amazon Fresh customers must order a minimum of $35 worth of groceries to get FREE delivery.

Also, you’ll score extra savings in-store at your local Whole Foods! Just look for the blue “Prime Member Deal” banners throughout the stores. Be sure to download the Whole Foods app and link it to your Prime account. Then have the cashier scan the QR code at checkout to apply extra savings!

Amazon Prime Day & Lightning Deals

You have to be a Prime member to shop the amazing Prime Day deals each year! Amazon offers some of the lowest price all-year on Prime Day. In past years, Amazon Prime Day has even beat out prices I’ve found during Black Friday. You’ll be able to save on electronics, home-goods, entertainment, and more. Prime Day is also the best time of the year to buy their Amazon products like Kindles and Echo devices. This event usually happens towards the end of June or towards the beginning of July. Amazon will inform their members via email when the event is approaching.

Throughout the year, you’ll be able to have “Prime Early Access” to their Lightning Deals. These deals are highly desirable items, due to their low-price, and are only on-sale for a short amount of time. Isn’t that great?! I’ve used this feature dozens of times as a member myself.

Credit Card + Gift Cards

Amazon offers a few option for their credit cards. You can apply for the Amazon Rewards card, which is a traditional credit card that can be used wherever you shop. Or, the Amazon Store card which can only be used at Amazon.

Amazon Rewards cardholders earn 5% back on all Amazon and Whole Foods purchases, as well as 2% back at restaurants and gas stations, and 1% everywhere else. Plus, if you sign up now, you’ll receive a $100 Amazon gift card. Amazon Store cardholders will save an extra 5% back on Amazon purchases. If you sign up now, you’ll receive a $60 gift card instantly. All reward points can be used towards future Amazon purchases. Wohoo!

Buy a lot of gift cards? If so, as a Amazon Prime member, you’ll 2% credit whenever you reload your gift card using a debit card through Amazon Reload. So, for instance, if you load $100 to your Amazon gift card, Amazon will include an extra $2 on your card.

Prime Video

One of my favorite benefits of being a Prime member is being able to access thousands of Prime videos for FREE! I love to watch television shows, movies, and Prime Originals. Amazon Prime Video is growing in popularity and is fast becoming one of my favorite streaming platforms.

You can also access, Prime Video Cinema and watch in-theater movies at home! Most of these rentals cost $19.99. Save on those concessions and extra ticket fees by staying at home instead of heading to the moving theater.

FREE Kindle eBooks

Amazon Prime members can get instant access to FREE Kindle eBooks and audio-books. These titles can be sent to your laptop, smartphone or Kindle device. Or, you can sign up for Kindle Unlimited for $9.99 a month, and have access to millions of audio-books and eBooks! These FREE eBooks and audio-books have a range of available titles from non-fiction to comics. Whatever you read, you’ll find tons of freebies for your library!

Amazon Prime Music

As a Prime member, you’ll gain access to over two million songs and thousands of playlists for no charge, as well as commercial free. If you want to access more than 60 million songs, then you’ll need to pay for Amazon Music Unlimited for $7.99 a month. The difference between Prime Music and Amazon Music is the amount of songs and the price.

It’s $9.99 per month if you are not a Prime member. If you have an Amazon Alexa device, it’s only $3.99 per month per device.

There are so many ways to save with Amazon Prime. Some of the other benefits that we didn’t mention are the one-month FREE subscription to any channel on Twitch, FREE unlimited photo storage through Amazon Photo, and the $2.99 Amazon Kids+ membership. This membership for kids gives access to thousands of books, movies, TV shows, and educational games. You will not want to miss out on the benefits of having a Amazon Prime Membership! Out of all subscription services, this one is by far the best and most accessible to all ages and needs.

If you aren’t a member already, sign up for a free trial of Amazon PrimeAmazon Family or Amazon Student.
